Forum Rules - The Definitive Mind

Welcome to the Definitive Mind Forums!

This is an educational forum. I hope you learn from me as much I am going to learn from you! There is a maxim about teachers: The advantage of being a teacher is that teachers learn far more from their students than students learn from their teachers.

Some Forum Rules:

1. This is a forum for civilized discussion on health and other matters. Personal attacks are not tolerated. Be respectful of one another.

2. For my patients: you are not allowed to discuss details of your treatment in the forum. Violations of this rule subjects you to dismissal from my practice and this forum.

3. Patients of other practitioners who are members of this forum should also respect their care providers’ wishes in regard to confidentiality of their treatment. Talk to your care provider about this issue.

4. Personal attacks and criticism of named practitioners or their treatment is not allowed. If you want to discuss the treatment itself, the name of the practitioner must be anonymous.

5. Published statements of named practitioners are O.K. for discussion. If you can, provide a link or reference to help clarify the discussion.

6. This is first and foremost an educational forum. It is not to provide medical care. If you are interested in my services or have questions about your care, please call my office. Otherwise, please consult your physician or other qualified health provider for undertaking any diet, exercise, supplement, medical, or other health program.

7. The term "professional opinion" means one has paid a fee to a professional for that opinion. Since the public areas of this forum are free...

8. All posts are subject to editing and reorganization to improve clarity of discussion.

9. Try to start a new thread if your content is off topic. Otherwise, change the post title to reflect the content. This would make it easier to move the posts to a new thread if needed.

10. I will be the final judge regarding the appropriateness of posts in the forum. I cannot, however, monitor every statement made. Thus: If there is a question about the appropriateness of a post, please notify me through a private message.

11. No advertisement is allowed without my permission. If specific brand-named products are mentioned, it should be evident from the post that it is useful to the conversation rather than being simply advertisement for the product. Otherwise, the post is subject to deletion or modification.

12. Infractions, such as spam advertisement (including ads in one's signature), personal attacks on others, or inappropriate language, are given 1 or more points per infraction. Users who reach 10 infraction points are permanently banned.
